After a horrible start to the 2022 MNY Draft on Friday, league members got together and decided to continue the slow draft with the following modified rules:
- Each team would receive 3 hours per pick, but were expected to put the pick in as soon as they had reached a decision to prevent teams from intentionally using up all of the pick clock
- The pick clock would only have one set schedule, 11am-10pm, each day.
Conner started the round off on Friday night, just before its two day pause, with a selection of Justin Jefferson, the star wide receiver from the Vikings. Brent, who ironically had the longest pick clock of the draft so far, ended up landing on Vikings running back, Dalvin Cook, who slid into the second round on Monday moring.
Bengals wide receiver/running back duo Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Mixon were selected back to back by Tyler and Chad respectively shortly after. Kelvin was the first team in the second round to use up a bit of clock before making his selection, but he eventually drafted Saints running back Alvin Kamara with the 13th overall pick in the draft.
David started a run on receivers when he took Cincinnati wide receiver Tee Higgins with pick 14. Ryan in turn took Deebo Samuel off the board. Finally, Andrew finished the first round by selecting Buffalo wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
“I’m shaking right now” stated one anonymous league member. “What is going on?” asked another. One thing is for certain: the second round brought a hell of a lot more chaos to the league’s Monday morning than expected.
The final round two draft list is as follows:
- Conner – Justin Jefferson (MIN, WR)
- Brent – Dalvin Cook (MIN, RB)
- Tyler – Ja’Marr Chase (CIN, WR)
- Chad – Joe Mixon (CIN, RB)
- Kelvin – Alvin Kamara (NO, RB)
- David – Tee Higgins (CIN, WR)
- Ryan – Deebo Samuel (SF, WR)
- Andrew – Stefon Diggs (BUF, WR)
