The draft continued to truck on into Monday afternoon and evening with picks coming in fairly frequently. Round 3 saw the continued fall of Davante Adams and the drafting of our first tight ends.
Andrew kicked the round off in the mid-afternoon with the drafting of Kansas City’s Travis Kelce. Kelce, once again, was the league’s first tight end pick. After Ryan selected CeeDee Lamb out of Dallas, David drafted the next tight end, Mark Andrews.
Kelvin then selected the oft-injured Giants back Saquon Barkley with his third round selection. Chad finally scooped the sliding Raiders receiver Davante Adams and Tyler followed it up with Broncos back Javonte Williams. The third round ended with Brent’s selection of Keenan Allen and Conner’s selection of Tyreek Hill.
Hill, who is notorious for having huge games against Conner, finds himself on Conner’s team for the first time in league history. “Conner cracked the code to prevent Tyreek from dropping 50 points on him” Brent commented. Ryan responded with “Joke’s on him, now Tyreek will only score 50 the whole year for him.”
Conner began the fourth round with his selection of Aaron Jones, who had also seen his stock falling. Brent followed it up with a bold reach for Atlanta tight end, Kyle Pitts. Brent expressed uncertainty at the pick but hoped that this pick would keep him from scouring the waiver wire for a tight end later in the season.
Tyler, after a brief stint shopping at Trader Joe’s, drafted Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown. Chad then took the first QB off the board with his selection of Josh Allen at the 27th pick. Kelvin got his second wide receiver when he selected Mike Evans and David took another Buccaneer in Leonard Fournette.
Ryan and Andrew wrapped up the 4th round towards the end of Monday night with selections of Patrick Mahomes and Ezekiel Elliott respectively.
